Description
ALBION ARCH SURVEY PROJECT 2018 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The Sawtooth National Forest, Minidoka RD requires archaeological inventories for the Albion-Raft River Aspen Restoration Project within the Albion Division, near Oakley, ID. The Albion Division is located in Southern Idaho in Cassia County. Access will be across existing roads, of which the access routes are on public lands administered by the Bureau of Land Management, State of Idaho and US Forest Service. In order to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA), as amended, the Sawtooth National Forest is initiating archaeological investigations that consist of Class III and Class II pedestrian surveys and recording of sites. Class III survey units are located in areas that are known to contain cultural resources or have a high probability of containing archaeological resources. Class II survey units are located in areas that have a moderate probability of containing archaeological resources. There are two sites that have been identified previously but will need to be assessed for impacts that may or may not have occurred since their recording and, if necessary, updated archaeological site forms accomplished. These sites are a lithic scatter (SW-1201) and the Hereford Guard Station (SW-494). LOCATION OF PROJECT AREA The project areas is approximately 9 miles SE of Oakley, ID. This includes T13S R24E, T14S R23E and R24E, and T15S R23E CONTACT STEVE CLEZIE AT (208) 737-3256 FOR MORE INFORMATION.
