Description
ELK MOUNTAIN EAST ARCH SURVEY PROJECT 2018 IN APPROXIMATELY 1 DAY, THE SOLICITATION FOR THIS COMMERCIAL SERVICE PROJECT WILL BE AVAILABLE TO VIEW AND PRINT. SCOPE OF WORK The Sawtooth National Forest, Sawtooth National Recreational Area (SNRA) requires archaeological inventories for the Elk Mountain East Vegetation Management Project. The SNRA is located north of Ketchum Idaho and extends to Stanley Idaho in Custer County. Access will be across existing roads, of which the access routes are on public lands administered by US Forest Service. In order to comply with Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 (NHPA), as amended, the Sawtooth National Forest is initiating archaeological investigations that consist of Class III and Class II pedestrian surveys and recording one known unrecorded site to standard & providing a recommendation of eligibility. Class III survey units are located in areas that are known to contain cultural resources or have a high probability of containing archaeological resources. Class II survey units are located in areas that have a moderate probability of containing archaeological resources. There is one eligible site that has been identified previously but will need to be assessed for presence of features within the project area. This site is the historic State Highway 21. There are also three previously recorded sites that need to be revisited, a condition assessment completed, and a recommendation of eligibility made. If after assessment, it is determined that major site changes have occurred, the site would need to be rerecorded. LOCATION OF PROJECT AREA The project areas is approximately 1.5 miles NW of Stanley, ID. This concludes T11N R12E sections 8, 9, 10, 15, 16, 17, 23, 27, 28 and 29. CONTACT STEVE CLEZIE AT (208) 737-3256 FOR MORE INFORMATION. CONTRACT TIME WILL BE 94 calendar days with an estimated start date of 07/02/2018. NAICS Code: 115310 Size Standard: $7.5.
