Description
RFP HT001118R0025 Exhibit will include a wall-mounted plastic half-model of the human brain in cross section. Visitors will be invited to touch with fingers and hands. As they do, they will hear a human-voice narrator announce identify each feature that they touch. This exhibit will include a wall-mounted plastic half-model of the human brain in cross section. Visitors will be invited to touch with fingers and hands. As they do, they will hear a human-voice narrator announce identify each feature that they touch. By tapping on a single part of the model, visitors will be able to drill down into multiple layers of description and explanation, so that they can learn how the brain works, and what can go wrong in the event of injury or disease. •Model size: Twice-actual size of an adult human brain. •Wall panel size: 20"x13" (landscape format). •Materials: 3D printed in nylon. •Three step coating system: carbon rich paint to create touch-responsive zones; acrylic paint for visuals; automotive clear coat to seal and protect the surface. •Electronics: Raspberry Pi running custom app programmed in Python, audio amplifier and speakers. Electronics to be mounted behind the wall panel. •Content: Information delivered by the exhibit will be organized in layers. An online spreadsheet will be used to organize the spoken messages for each brain part. This document will be shared with educators at NMHM for review and editing. •Power requirement: 120 VAC power must be available at a receptacle to be installed by NMHM behind the wall panel.
