Description

(i) This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for Hu-Friedy Dental Hand Tools as prepared in accordance with the format in Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. A firm-fixed price purchase order is anticipated. Simplified Acquisition Procedures IAW FAR 13 will be used. (ii) The solicitation number is 36C26018Q0329 and is issued as a Brand-Name or Equal (Henry Schein) request for quotation (RFQ). (iii) The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-96 (iv) This solicitation is set aside 100% for Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Businesses (SDVOSB) and the associated NAICS 339114 Dental Equipment and Supplies MFG. To be considered a small business your company must have fewer than 750 employees. Hu-Friedy Dental Instruments Salient Characteristics These are the only approved hand instruments to be processed with Sterile Processing for infection prevention and instrument processing that has been approved by National VA Dental. Resin basin instruments nor instruments manufactured from Pakistan are not approved for use in the VA due to the sterile processing standards. Must be able to: 1. Must meet approved VA Sterile Processing Standards. 2. Periodontal Hygiene Hand Instruments: - Hu-Friedy hygiene instruments have superior edge retention and wear characteristics of EverEdge Technology will last the entire life of the instrument. Less force means easier, more comfortable scaling for the clinician. - Edged instruments must have the ability to be re sharpened extending the life of the instrument. - Handle must have diamond knurl pattern on the large diameter handle provides a confident and comfortable grasp for the hygienist and have optimal weight for reduced hand fatigue. - Offset blade provides a perfect working angulation for the tooth surface. - Offset blade angulation means only the lower cutting edge of each blade is used. - Gracey curettes are ideal for tenacious calculus removal, gross scaling, and initial debridement.
