Description
Facility layout of bldg. 1008 &1009 With regards section 1.4. Scope: "The Contractor shall be responsible for wireless Internet services IAW the issued contract for each site" 1. Please provide the an explanation of expectations with regards to the above statement. Wireless service is a broad term, what wireless service are you referring to? Does the requirement include the need for a Wi-Fi access point/Wireless router? If so please provide specifications on the type of unit ports etc... Answer: See attached Facility layout for FAC 1008 & FAC 1009. Each facility has 3 floors with offices and rooms. Wi-Fi access will be needed on every floor for use in the offices and rooms. "Contractor shall provide up to 6 Hardwire Ethernet plug in sites at locations within FAC # 1009, Fort Bliss" 2. This statement implies there is only a 6 port plug requirement at this site, how will that be provided, a 6 port switch or some other means? Answer: In addition to access to Wi-Fi at both facility locations for all 3 floors in each facility, at FAC 1009 there will also be 6 locations with installed Ethernet connections that can be used for hard-wire internet access. 3. Is the 60Mbps download a hard number or will the government lower the requirement and accept shared service speeds? (20Mbps by 4Mbps) Answer: The minimum acceptable Internet speeds are 60Mbps; noting that when there are several people using the Wi-Fi services the speeds will be reduced however we expect services to be able to handle the traffic of many users accessing the internet without interruptions. 4. The service requested is 60Mbps by 5Mbps in two locations, is that 30Mbps by 2.5 Mbps in each, or is it 60Mbps by 5 Mbps in both? Answer: The vendor is expected to provide Internet Wi-Fi speeds requested from anywhere within the locations (1st, 2nd 3rd Floors) at Facilities 1008 & 1009 as depicted in the attached facility layout. 5. Is there a specific minimum data rate acceptable, the RFQ states the data can't be lower than 10% is that 10% of the max data rate? (Example: 60Mbps - 10% would be $6Mbps minimum.) Answer: vendor is to provide internet speeds as requested and stay within a 10% margin of requested speeds. Variables will be considered depending upon the number of users accessing the services at any given moment. 6. Is there a limit to the amount of time the data rate can be at 10%? Answer: Internet services should be consistent without interruptions and be able to absorb many users accessing the network without losing more than 10% of the speeds requested. 1.10.2. Post Award Conference/Periodic Progress Meetings. The Contractor agrees to attend any post award conference convened by the contracting activity or contract administration office IAW FAR Subpart 42.5, Post Award Orientation. The KO, COR, and other Government personnel, as appropriate, may meet periodically with the Contractor to review the Contractor's performance. At these meetings the KO will apprise the Contractor of how the Government views the Contractor's performance and the Contractor will apprise the Government of problems, if any, being experienced. Appropriate action shall be taken to resolve outstanding issues. These meetings shall be considered into the overall contract price. It will be difficult to project costs involved without some additional info on this. 7. How many meetings will there be? Answer: I don't plan on having any meetings until the contract is awarded and then only to show the vendor where the six hard Ethernet sites go and the facility layout for the installation of Wi-Fi services. 8. The answers to the above questions may prompt further questions or need clarification, will the question deadline be extended for follow-up? no 9. Can the RFQ be emailed to you atlamon.d.whitfield.mil@mail.mil < Caution-mailto:lamon.d.whitfield.mil@mail.mil > by the deadline or does a hard copy need to be mailed in? If mailed in, what address? Answer: No, all Proposal will be submitted through the Federal Business Opportunities (FBO) website.
