Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veterans Affairs, Albuquerque VAMC intends to negotiate on a sole source basis, pursuant to FAR 6.302-1, with Uhlmann Packaging Systems Uhlmann B-1240 thermal forming machine, ink rollers and housing units. This units are the only unites compatible with the existing HAPA printer. This equipment is needed to accurately produce the detailed identification markings (green and red) on the rear side of the ACLAR/Hard Temper Foil 28 cell blister pack. Uhlmann Packing Systems is the only source because they maintain all documentation and maintenance history of the B-1240 unit and HAPA printer. These units are mated as a matched set and therefore need special tracking by Uhlmann. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; however, any responsible source who believes it is capable of meeting the requirement may submit a capability statement to the contracting office no later than Tuesday, May 1st, 4:00, EST. Interest/capability statements may be sent to Lynn Portman at lynn.portman@va.gov. No telephone responses will be accepted. A determination not to compete the proposed requirement based upon the responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
