- The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) intends to procure on a sole source basis with Mayo Medical Laboratories, 3050 Superior Drive NW, Rochester, MN 55901 for services to measure urinary catecholamines (epinephrine, norepinephrlne and dopamine) and metanephrlnes (metanephrlne and normetanephrlnes). As part of the assessment of hormonal response to diets varying in macronutrient content in subjects participating in NIDDK studies (ClinicalTrials.gov: NCT00523627, NCT00342732, NCT0086609) entitled "Study of Short-term Metabolic Adaptation: Prediction of weight change and effects of macronutrient manipulations", "The Food Intake Phenotype: Assessing Eating Behavior and Food Preferences as Risk Factors for Obesity" and "The Effects of Exenatide (Byetta TM ) on Energy Expenditure and Weight Loss in Non-Diabetic Obese Subjects" the Obesity and Diabetes Clinical Research Section of the Phoenix Epidemiology and Clinical Research Branch, NIDDK, NIH at 4212 North 16th Street Phoenix, AZ 85016 is requesting that Mayo Medical Laboratories ("MML") measure urinary catecholamines (epinephrine, norepinephrine and dopamine) and metanephrines (metanephrine and normetanephrines). MML shall, upon request, perform the tests listed below at the fees indicated in accordance with the then current MML Test Catalog. The NIH's intent is to send 442 samples of stored coded urine specimens to MML for testing. MML shall provide results to the NIH through MayoLink and the NIH shall be responsible for any data management following result delivery. In compliance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.106-1(b) Soliciting from a single source. This solicitation is not a Small Business Set-Aside. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals, however; all responses received, before the closing date, of this announcement will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed acquisition is based upon responses to this notice and is solely within the discretion of the Government. It is anticipated that the RFQ NICHD201800033 will be available ten (10) days after the publication date of this synopsis. Receipt of quotations will be due five (5) days after the release of the RFQ. All interested parties to this solicitation may request a copy of the RFQ package via email verne.griffin@nih.gov. Responses to this notice shall contain sufficient information to establish the interested parties' bona-fide capabilities for fulfilling the requirement and include: unit price, list price, shipping and handling costs, the delivery period after contract award, the prompt payment discount terms, the F.O.B. Point (Destination or Origin), the Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS), the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN), and the certification of business size. All offerors must have an active registration in the System for Award Management (SAM) www.sam.gov." All requests must contain offerors name, address, telephone number and fax number.
