Description
Sources Sought for parts for LaRue 14.5" OBR Hybrid 7.62 Rifle: The Office of Secure Transportation, NA-15, requires 65 line items of weapons parts for weapons made by a single manufacturer having no alternative distributors. Consistent with FAR 6.101(a) and FAR 10.001(a)(2), this is a Sources-Sought / Request-For-Information for products competing with the Austin Precision Products Incorporated dba LaRue Tactical (LT) rifle parts. Respond by the indicated deadline through FedConnect. See additional details in the upper right-hand corner of the FedConnect screen for attached documents. The U.S. Department of Energy (USDOE) National Nuclear Security Administration (NNSA), Office of Secure Transportation (OST) has need to maintain its LaRue 14.5 OBR Hybrid 7.62 Rifle System inventory. Parts from LaRue Tactical (Austin Precision Products Incorporated) are necessary to maintain equipment and operational compatibility with the existing equipment and systems currently in use. These systems are currently the U.S. Military standard and are used throughout DOD as well as other Federal law Enforcement Agencies. The LaRue 14.5 OBR Hybrid 7.62 Rifle System is the approved Precision Rifle used by the Office of Secure Transportation Federal Agent force. The value-added by the LT Rifle compared to similar rifles is provided by the higher manufacturing tolerances and custom parts; furthermore, the LT rifle is of similar accuracy to rifles that have longer barrels and higher weight. Therefore purchasing the necessary parts to maintain these weapon systems at factory specification is of great importance to the OST mission. Research suggests that LaRue Tactical (Austin Precision Products Incorporated) is the sole manufacturer of the parts for the LaRue 14.5 OBR Hybrid 7.62 Rifle System. This requirement which consists of rifle parts, must enable OST to maintain current rifle systems at full functionality and precision. Interested, eligible, and capable vendors who can provide replacement parts for LaRue 14.5 OBR Hybrid 7.62 Rifle System need to reply through the FedConnect System, and only the FedConnect System, to declare interest/capability. Be sure to enclose the basis/rationale for equivalent product capabilities, the company Dun And Bradstreet (DUNS) Number and do so by the deadline on May 1, 2018 at 8 am Eastern Time. The point of contact for this document and action is Federal Contacting Specialist Evyn Anderson, 505-845-6896, evyn.anderson@nnsa.doe.gov.
