Description
This is a notice of intent, not a request for a quotation. A solicitation document will not be issued and quotations will not be requested. The National Institute of Health intends to award a fixed price purchase order with one (1) twelve month base year and up to (4) twelve month option periods to Children's National Medical Center, Washington DC 20010, on a sole source basis to provide on call physician pediatric critical care support. The Critical Care Medicine Department (CCMD) requires pediatric critical care board certified physicians to provide 24/7, 365 days a week critical care consulting services to CCMD physicians, nurses and respiratory therapists. It is critical that the CCMD provide the best possible clinical care to its patients, especially pediatric patients. Children's National Medical Center (CNMC) is the only known physician group with the level of expertise, knowledge of the Clinical Center pediatric patient population and their unique/complex disease processes, and can respond timely to critical medical emergencies providing the necessary 24/7, 365 days a year, within one hour of requests for on-call support requirements. On call physicians must be proficient and independently perform intubation and intravascular line insertion procedures. Also the CNMC has a critical care group that manages complex patients with multi-organ disease on a daily basis and are up to date on current pediatric care practices and modalities. Pediatric Intensivist consultants must be competent to recommend therapeutic plans and advice on medication dosing for pediatric critical care patients. This acquisition is being conducted using policies unique to FAR Part 13.5 Test Program for Certain Commercial Items and specifically FAR 13.501(a) Special Documentation Requirements, Sole source (including brand name) acquisitions where acquisitions conducted under Simplified Acquidition procedures are exempt from the requirements of FAR 6, but still require a justification using the format of FAR 6.303-2. Interested parties may identify their interest and capabilities in response to this posting. The determination by the Government not to compete the proposed requirement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Comments to this announcement, referencing this posting number, may be submitted to the CC, Office of Purchasing and Contracts, prior to the closing date specified in this announcement, electronically to the attention of Malinda Dehner, Contract Specialist, dehnerm@cc.nih.gov by the due date and time marked in this notice.
