Description
SOCIAL SECURITY ADMINISTRATION (SSA) This amendment extends the due date for capability statements to Tuesday April 17, 2018. SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST FOR INFORMATION FOR REQUISITION 3365-18-1160 SSA-RFI-18-1160 SSA SHAREPOINT ONLINE O365 BACKUP AND RESTORE PRODUCTS This is a REQUEST FOR INFORMATION. This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. Please reference SSA-RFI-18-1160 when responding to this announcement. OBJECTIVE SSA seeks to purchase a new third party backup utility designed specifically to backup data from SPO (SharePoint Online) O365 Government Cloud tenant to an SSA on premise location where SSA will have full access to our data 24/7. The backup tool must perform out of place data restores. It must perform granular SPO data backups and restores down to the file and version level. Must have the capability to perform data restores beyond thirty days. SSA will be able to restore mission critical data immediately, 24/7, on demand. BACKGROUND SSA Enterprise SharePoint Services (SESS) operates under the Microsoft SharePoint 2010 platform. SESS will transition into Microsoft O365 (Office 365) Government Cloud. At same time, SESS 2010 will be placed into a SharePoint 2016 environment. The current hierarchy of nested sites structure will be redesigned to a flat topology. SSA SharePoint Cloud Services (SSCS) will continue to deliver at the same service level as it does in SESS. Microsoft SPO native backup and restore methods lack the features SSA requires to continue our business processes and operations. Their only built in backup and restore feature can only restore data less than fourteen days old. SSA will not have direct access to our data and must open a service ticket with Microsoft which creates a middle man situation. The restoration process will not be immediate and may take over twenty-four (24) hours to obtain the data. The alternative data recovery method included in SPO is the recycle bin which is not 100% reliable and can only recover deleted data, not corrupt data. Data restores are not granular and can only restore at the site level. Microsoft SPO native data restore only supports in place restores. A highly specialized third party utility is necessary to backup SPO data from our O365 Cloud Tenant to an SSA on premise location. The utility should perform backup and restore operations from site to file and version level. SSA will have possession of our backup files at all times. The utility must be capable of performing out of place restores. HIGH LEVEL REQUIREMENTS AND SPECIFICATIONS 1. Ability to backup data from a SPO 2016 O365 Cloud tenant 2. Ability to backup to an outside of cloud repository to SSA locations. 3. Ability to restore to SPO 2016 O365 Cloud tenant from SSA locations. 4. Supports Microsoft Azure Services and Express Route. 5. Ability to backup and restore Active Directory objects and metadata. 6. Perform granular data restores from site collection to file level. 7. Ability to restore SPO metadata. 8. Ability to restore SPO versions. 9. Ability to backup and restore security metadata only. 10. Ability to retain data indefinitely. Data does not expire. 11. Ability to restore data from indefinitely stored backup files. 12. Supports auto discovery of new sites and objects. 13. SSA manages and has full control to software, 24/7. 14. Supports on demand backup and restore. 15. Ability to perform in place and out of place data restore. 16. Site collection administrators can perform their own restores based on permissions. 17. IPV6 capable. CONSIDERATIONS AND CONSTRAINTS The tool will be used to back up and restore SSCS in SPO O365. It must be the most competent backup and restore solution available.
