- Overview The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS), Administration for Children and Families (ACF) will be hosting a Small Business Industry Day (SBID) event from 8:00 AM to 1:00 PM, Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Monday April 23nd 2018,in room 800 on the 8th floor of the Hubert Humphrey Federal Building located at 200 Independence Avenue SW, Washington, DC 20024. The ACF promotes the economic and social well-being of families, children, individuals and communities. ACF programs aim to: 1) Empower families and individuals to increase their economic independence and productivity; 2) Encourage strong, healthy, supportive communities that have a positive impact on quality of life and the development of children; 3) Create partnerships with front-line service providers, states, localities and tribal communities to identify and implement solutions that transcend traditional program boundaries; 4) Improve access to services through planning, reform and integration; and 5) Address the needs, strengths and abilities of vulnerable populations including people with developmental disabilities, refugees and migrants. The ACF SBID event will provide a targeted forum for interested Small Businesses (SB) to 1) allow SBs to learn about ACF various programs; 2) allow SBs to brief government representatives on their specific capabilities and 3) hear about potential procurement opportunities within AFC. SBs are advised that this SBID opportunity is targeted to the Broad Areas of Interest (BAI) and the associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) codes identified in this announcement. II. Registration and Other Important Details Registration is required for each individual seeking to attend. Please email SBMAIL@HHS.GOV to register for this event or call (202) 690-7300. Registration Deadline: All registrations must be received no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time (EST) on Thursday April 19th 2018. Confirmation of attendance and registration will be sent no later than Monday April 20th, 2018. o Security requires a printed guest list in advance of the event. Thus, no substitutions will be allowed. o Attendance is limited to the first 200 people who register o No more than two representatives per vendor may attend, though we kindly ask that vendors limit their attendance to one person o Group registration will not be accepted. III. What to bring with you for the SBID Valid Photo ID - Driver's License or Passport (Active) o Entrance to the Federal building requires Valid Photo ID. You will not be allowed access without a valid photo ID  Limited copies of the ACF Budget in Brief will be available for participants. Transit Options • By Metro: The closest metro station within walking distance of the building is: Federal Center SW, serving the Orange, Blue, and Silver lines and is located within 0.3 miles of the Humphrey building at the corner of 3rd & D ST SW. • By Car: Street and garage parking are located in and around the area. Garage parking is available Nearby, with one located on 4th and C ST SW, adjacent to McDonalds with a daily rate of $20.00 V. Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) 1. Is registration required to attend? a. Yes, registration is required for various reasons, especially since the capacity is 200 people. 2. What happens once 200 people register? Is there a wait list? a. No. Registration is open to the first 200 people to attend the event. There will not be a wait list. b. Those first 200 registrants will receive an email confirmation indicating their attendance no later than April 19, 2018. Additionally, each confirmed registrant will be placed on the list given to building security for entrance day of the event. c. All other registrants will receive an email notification stating that we have exceeded the capacity limitations. 3. Will there be time for one-on-one (i.e. private, individual vendor and government) meetings? a. While one on one matchmaking will not be a part of registration, the government will provide an opportunity during the event for vendors to interact will the government. VI.
