- The following is a Sources Sought/Request for Information notice. This posted notice is not a Pre-Solicitation or Solicitation document. The government is not currently soliciting bids, quotes or proposals at this time; however, reserves the right to do so at a later date. The Coatesville VA Medical Center, Coatesville, PA has a future requirement for the following: All furnishings shall be manufactured from recycled products and have LEED Certification. Work Stations Large Desks: Desk 30 x 66, laminated desk shells with 1 metal box/box/file pedestal. 1 1/8 tops with ¾ sides and ½ tk. 1/2 modesty panels. Provide and install grommets. Laminate tops, support legs and modesty panels to match using standard laminate from Wilsonart, Formica, Nevamar or Pionite or equivalent, which matches existing furniture. Small Desks: Desk 30 x 48, laminated desk shells with 1 metal box/box/file pedestal. 1 1/8 tops with ¾ sides and ½ tk. 1/2 modesty panels. Provide and install grommets. Laminate tops, support legs and modesty panels to match using standard laminate from Wilsonart, Formica, Nevamar or Pionite, or equivalent, which matches existing furniture. Pedestals 20" Mobile File/File Pedestal File - 15" x 19.9" x 27.8" - 3 x File Drawer(s) - Material: Steel - Finish: Putty Pedestal, Mobile, 15" W x 19-7/8" D x 27-3/4" H, Mobile pedestal file, high-sided file drawer with full extension. Two box drawers for storage. Steel ball-bearing, drawer suspension. Factory-installed, core-removable lock for security. Drawer pull extends across the entire, recessed drawer front for easy access. Hidden casters, 19-7/8" depth. Miscellaneous Furniture Information Documentation for furniture reference must be included in a binder format Furniture must have warranty noted (this will be a determining factor) Please provide at 2 and 3-D drawings depicting typicals Furniture must include hardware to install Upholstery must be commercially rated and meet NFPA 701 Furniture layouts must meet ADA guidelines VA will select finishes with awarded vendor BBF AND FF PEDESTAL Shall be a freestanding pedestal, fits below a hanging or freestanding work surface. Shall have a painted, smooth steel case, applied metal pulls, and 1" leveling glides. Counterweight shall be included. Box drawers shall have full extension drawers and include a drawer divider or utility tray. File drawers shall have full extension slides and hold letter size front to back hanging files. Each file drawer shall include file converters for letter, legal, and A4 size side to side hanging files. The pedestal top shall be 1 1/6 high, 22 gauge cold rolled steel. The pedestal top shall be finished with powder coat paint. The pedestal top shall attach to the pedestal case with hot melt adhesive. The pedestal exterior case shall consist of a 5 sided construction. The pedestal exterior case shall be formed from a single sheet of 22 gauge cold rolled steel. The pedestal exterior case shall have four vertical frame members, which shall be 20 gauge cold rolled steel, shall be resistance (spot) welded to the exterior. The pedestal exterior case shall have 20 gauge spreaders that shall be resistance (spot) welded to the front vertical members at the top and bottom of the case forming a full frame. The pedestal exterior case shall have a rear spreader that shall be snap fitted and riveted to the bottom of the case. The pedestal exterior case shall be fully finished with powder coat paint. The pedestal drawer front shall be formed, 22 gauge cold rolled steel. The pedestal drawer front shall be finished with powder coat paint. The pedestal drawer front shall be attached to the drawer with sheet metal screws. The pedestal drawer pull, which shall be attached to the front with sheet metal screws, shall be 22 gauge cold rolled steel. The pedestal drawer pull shall be finished with powder coat paint. The pedestal drawer pull shall be 5 3/4" wide, 5/16" deep, 9/16" thick and shall provide 7/8" inside hand clearance. The pedestal drawer pull will require attachment in field. Pull design conforms to guidelines of Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). The pedestal drawer body, back, slide lances, and bayonets shall be 22 gauge cold rolled steel. The pedestal drawer body, back, side lances, and bayonets shall be finished in Ironstone powder coat paint. The pedestal back shall be snap fitted to the drawer body. The pedestal slide lances shall fit into bayonets on the drawer body and case vertical frame members and be secured by lock features on the slides. The pedestal drawer slides shall attach the drawer to the case and let the drawer open and close. The pedestal drawer slides shall include sound dampening pads. The pedestal file drawer slides shall be quick disconnect, full extension, 16 gauge cold rolled steel with a bright zinc finish. The pedestal file drawer slides shall have carburized steel ball bearings and be lubricated with high and low temperature grease. The pedestal box drawer slides shall be 16 gauge cold rolled steel full extension slides. A counterweight to stabilize the pedestal shall be standard on stationary pedestals. The pedestal shall include either 1 or 2 counterweights, depending on the pedestal configuration. Each pedestal counterweight shall be made from molded concrete. Pedestal counterweight shall conform to ASTM standard C90. Pedestal counterweight shall be mounted to the back of the case using air cured adhesive. Finish shall be a Group 1 or equal. Lock plugs and key in chrome to be provided for all flip door storage units- numbers to be determined WORKSURFACES Delivery to warehouse Finish shall be a Standard grade laminate or equal to match work-surfaces The work surface load limit shall be 200 pounds, concentrated load. Work surface attachment hardware shall be included. Work surface shall be a 1 1/8 thick particleboard core with a high pressure laminate top face, laminate underside, and rigid, extruded, integral color vinyl side edges. Work surface holes shall be predrilled in the underside of the work surface for the installation of drawers and suspended pedestals. Steel spacers and steel pins, for fitting the work surface onto the support arms, shall be factory installed to the underside of the work surface. The pins shall be installed near the front of the work surface and shall fit into the round holes in the supports. A galvanized steel hat section shall be affixed to the underside of 54 64 wide work surfaces with metal screws. The galvanized steel hat section shall span the width of the surface and provide stability and prevent deflection. The work surface supports shall be powder coat painted. The work surface supports shall be 13 gauge, high strength, low alloy sheet steel with integral attachment hooks. The work surface supports shall include a leveling screw. Work surfaces shall all include two support arms. The ganging plate, which shall connect the front corners of adjacent work surfaces, shall be a 2.375 x 2.625 painted steel plate. Packaging materials shall include corrugated cardboard, molded pulp, and expanded polystyrene foam. Packing materials shall be part of a closed loop recycling system, meaning they can be recycled repeatedly. Shall be designed for minimal material use, reduced energy requirements, easy re-configurability, and durability. Shall be easy to assemble for cost efficiency and quick parts replacement. Shall be easy to disassemble for recyclability. Shall be designed for durability, an important environmental criterion.
