Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR), V-22 Osprey Program (PMA 275), Patuxent River, MD intends to negotiate and award a sole-source Purchase Order to Point Blank Ballistics Inc. (formally, The Protective Group Inc.) 14100 NW 58th CT, Miami Lakes, FL 33014-3119 for the Engineering Change Proposal to document the incorporation of the Advanced Ballistic Stopping System (ABSS) in the CV-22 Osprey aircraft and procurement of 25 individual spare panels for the ABSS. This acquisition is being pursued on a sole-source basis under the authority of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 13.103-1(b)(1)(i). Point Blank Ballistics Inc. is the sole designer, developer, and manufacturer of the CV-22 Osprey ABSS and therefore is the only company that has the requisite knowledge, experience, and technical data required to successfully support fleet and program requirements. Companies interested in subcontracting opportunities should contact Point Blank Ballistics Inc. directly. This synopsis is not a Request for Quote. The Government does not intend to fund the development or qualification of other sources for fulfilling this requirement. All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which shall be considered by the agency.
