Description
Statement of Work & Diagrams Solicitation Package Overview The American Merchant Marine Museum (AMMM) seeks the services of a contractor to move the S.S. AMERICA mural from Delano Hall to the rear of the stage in Ackerman Hall. The mural presently covers a relief sculpture and plaque commemorating merchant marines lost in World War II. The purpose for moving the mural is to reveal the relief sculpture and plaque to inspire the U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) midshipmen with the deeds of their forebears. • Contract Type Firm Fixed Price Instructions The procurement is a Small Business set-aside The Government reserve the right to not award to any vendor not registered in the System for Award Management (SAM) at the time of award. NAICS Code 314910 (Textile Bag and Canvas Mills) and Size Standards in number of employees is 500 or similar size standard. Period of Performance All work is to be completed on or before September 15, 2018. Evaluation Criteria Factor 1: Technical Capability Sub-Factor A: Experience Sub-Factor B: Past Performance - Provide a portfolio of work involving the movement and/or restoration of major public art installations. Include credentials of qualified painting conservator(s) who specializes in murals, and a qualified statuary conservator. Each shall possess no less than a Master's Degree in Conservation Factor 2: Price Technical capability/experience and Past performance is slightly more important than price. It's imperative interested vendors attend the site visit. All measurements are intended as general guidelines. Any interested vendor submitting a package for the project is encouraged to make the site visit and take their own measurements. Other Information A general loading dock with a forklift for AMMM deliveries is available (especially for large or oversized items. Also, a large parking area is in back of the museum.
