Description

Salient Characteristic Transport/Medical Chair Nesting Capability must be able to be nested/stacked with current VA transport/medical chairs that are utilized on Walla Walla VA Campus. Current Model is Staxi Patriot Medical Chair. Must fit within both Outdoor Staxi Shelters and Indoor Staxi Docking Stations Framing: Non-Folding Frame Weight Capacity Minimum 600 pounds Width - No greater than 30 in Width Height Must be minimum 32 Braking System Must have failsafe autobraking system that is automatically activated by releasing the hand operated lever that is attached to the handlebar. Operational Capability - Must have autolock system that does not allow chair to operate unless the individual pushing the chair depresses and holds the lever which deactivated the brakes. When lever is released- brakes must automatically activate. Individuals in chair must not be able to lock, unlock or operate the chair. Chair is strictly for transport service and not self-mobility. Armrests- must be able to be moved out of way and have unobstructed access to chair for transfers Lifting Armrest Greater than 90 degree lift Handlebar- must have full width horizontal handle bar with built in brake lever. Foot Rests Must be permanently affixed to chair but be able to be folded out of the way Wheels Ballbearing-Solid Compound not pneumatic tires either tube or tubeless. must be easy rolling - Both Front and Rear caster bearings must be sealed. Anti-tipping - must have antitipping bars installed permanently on chair with small diameterwheels. Cushion Must be easily replaceable. Must be able to change out cushion without tools within 1 minute. Must be anti-microbial certified. Courtesy Rack Must have courtesy rack underneath chair for placement of small items. Options must have options available from manufacturer this chair to include: IV pole, O2 tank carrier, elevating leg/foot rests, Seat padding, retractable seatbelts, replaceable seat pads and options of standard or comfort cushions. Function: Must be easy to push and easily maneuverable Operating Instructions: Chair must have detailed Instructions on operating chair on the handle of the chair itself. Instructions for operations as well as safety precautions/risk. Must also have larger Operational Instruction wall signs available for purchase with same information. Courtesy Rack: Must have built in courtesy rack on back of wheelchair. Metal Nameplate - Must have large custom nameplate attached to back of chair that states Jonathan M. Wainwright Memorial VA Medical Center, Walla Walla 99362 Nameplate must also have the Bldg name and # of the Chair Bldg 145 #1, Bldg 145 #2, Bldg 145 #3 up through # 20. Color Font size, etc all must be approved by the VA. Nameplate must be fixed firmly against frame chair and not interfere with chair operations. Outdoor Staxi Shelter- 6 Chair - Chair must fit with Walla Walla VA current Outdoor Staxi Shelters and must be able to nest with current Staxi VA chairs already in use. Manufacturer must have proven record with transport chairs and utilization within hospitals, VA Medical Centers and other applicable venues. Cleaning Instructions: Manufacturer must provide detailed cleaning instructions for chair. Chair must be able to be cleaned with Power Washers. Monthly/Quarterly Inspection Checklist: Manufacturer must provide both monthly and quarterly maintenance instructions/checklist. Maintenance and Inspection Videos: Manufacturer must have maintenance and inspection training videos available for the transport/medical chair. Automatic Fail-Safe Braking System: Manufacturer must provide detailed checklist for testing automatic fail safe braking system which is required for this Detailed instructions must also be included for testing Warranty- Minimum 1 year warranty covering entire chair -wheel to wheel.
