- SCOPE OF WORK Work under this contract will require the contractor to identify Japanese knotweed plants and populations growing along an approximate 2 mile reach of the Sanpoil River, treat all plants with herbicide and map their locations. The area will be accessed by walking the river corridor. All labor, materials, supplies, equipment, tools, herbicide, surfactant, dye, etc. will be supplied by the contractor. All plants within the treatment area will be treated using an aquatically labeled glyphosate herbicide that will be applied either by stem injection or foliar spray as follows. Aquatically labeled marker dye will be required for all foliar applications. There are currently 28 known locations with Japanese knotweed growing along this approximate 2 mile reach of the Sanpoil River. Most plants are fairly young and small, but there are some older/larger ones also. Stem Size Application Method % Glyphosate Concentrate Large stems Stem Injections 100% Small stems Foliar spraying 8% PROJECT LOCATION Herbicide application to control Japanese Knotweed along and adjacent to the Sanpoil River in Ferry County, WA on the Republic Ranger District, Colville National Forest. No Pre Bid Meeting will be held. Project quoters are advised to visit the project site prior to submitting a quote. The solicitation will be posted around April 17th 2018. The desired start of work is August 15th 2018 with a job duration of 30 days. There will be 3 Option Years after that for a possible total contract time of 4 years.
