- Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veteran Affairs, Veterans Health Administration, Network Contracting Office 6, Hampton VA 23667, intends to negotiate a sole source Firm-Fixed Price contract for Biospace Brand InBody770 Body Composition Analyzer and Supporting Equipment for the Richmond VAMC with BIOSPACE INC dba INBODY., in accordance with 40 USC 501, Services for Executive Agencies; and Section 803 of the National Defense Authorization Act of 2002 (PL 107-107) and implemented by FAR 8.405-6. This is not a request for competitive offers and no solicitation is available. Market research has determined that these items and/or services are highly specialized and only available from a single source without an unacceptable delay or duplication of cost and no other type of items and/or services will satisfy agency requirements. The Government intends to award the contract with an effective date of April 04, 2018 to INBODY, 13850 CERRITOS CORPORATE DRIVE, UNIT C, CERRITOS, CA, 90703; Cage Code 4WXY5. The Richmond VAMC currently has a need for additional InBody770 Body Composition Analyzers and supporting equipment. These units conduct bioelectric impedance analysis (BIA) to measure body composition. It is part of the comprehensive screening and testing process in ALD and post-transplant patients to guide the dietitian in dietary interventions. The type of technology used in these units is proprietary and uses a patented direct segmental multi-frequency bioelectrical impedance analysis (DSM-BIA). Biospace holds the patent for this type of device and is compatible with other equipment currently in use at the Richmond VAMC facility. This synopsis announcement is being issued for information purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation or request for competitive proposals. If a firm believes it is capable of meeting the Government's requirement, it may identify their interest and capability to the contract specialist no later than April 04, 2018 at 1200pm EDT of this publication by contacting Jacqueline Ambala via e-mail at jacqueline.ambala@va.gov. Telephone inquiries will not be accepted. Interested firms must indicate whether they are large, small, small-disadvantaged, 8(a) or woman owned business and whether they are U.S. or foreign owned. Respondents who submit proprietary data shall clearly mark the data with appropriate markings. The Government will not pay for any information submitted as a result of this synopsis. This synopsis shall not be construed as an obligation on the part of the Government to acquire any products or services.
