Description
Redacted CJ&A 17-0210 The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) has awarded a fixed price and cost type contract action to The Boeing Company of St. Louis, Missouri 63134 for F/A-18 and EA-18G Integrated Product Support (IPS) in calendar year (CY) 2018. This contract action will cover the U.S. Navy (USN) and foreign military sales CY 2018 requirements for all IPS efforts to support the F/A-18 and EA-18G mission readiness and operational availability. The IPS services support may include sustaining engineering to include F/A-18A-D Structural Appraisal of Fatigue Effects support and weapon system engineering; support of special tooling, special test equipment to maintain and update Enhanced Technical Information Management System data files and support equipment; configuration management; data library support to include updates to the Naval Air Technical Data and Engineering Service Command database; sustainment of support equipment; and site activation planning. The procurement was awarded on a sole source basis, under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, 'Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.' The Boeing Company is the sole designer, developer, manufacturer and integrator of the F-18 aircraft in its various configurations, and is the only source with the knowledge, expertise and on-site personnel necessary to accomplish this effort.
