Description
1. GENERAL REQUIREMENTS: The work consists of providing all labor, materials and equipment as required to clean the Gaylord hood system, and ducting onboard USCGC FLYINGFISH, located at USCG Base Portsmouth, 4000 Coast Guard Blvd. Portsmouth, VA. 23703. 2. SCOPE OF WORK: Contractor will clean all Gaylord hood system ducting onboard USCGC FLYINGFISH.. REFERENCES - Available upon request from Charles Setnicky (757) 483-8552. Coast Guard Drawings Coast Guard Drawing 87 WPB 514-001, Rev M, HVAC Duct & Piping System Coast Guard Drawing 87 WPB 651-001, Rev E, Galley Mess Equipment Coast Guard Publications Surface Forces Logistic Center Standard Specification 0000 (SFLC Std Spec 0000), 2014 General Requirements Surface Forces Logistics Center Standard Specification 5100 (SFLC Std Spec 5100), 2014, Clean Shipboard Ventilation Systems Surface Forces Logistics Center Standard Specification 6310 (SFLC Std Spec 6310), 2014, Requirements for Preservation of Ship Structures Coast Guard Commandant Instruction (COMDINST) M10360.3, Change 1, June 2006, Coatings and Color Manual OTHER REFERENCES None Protective measures - general. The contractor shall furnish and install all protective coverings to seal off and protect all non-affected vessel's components, equipment, and spaces in the vicinity of the work area against contamination during performance of work. Upon completion of work, the Contractor shall remove all installed protective measures, inspect for the presence of contamination, and return all contaminated equipment, components, and spaces to original condition of cleanliness. Additional protective measures. - In addition to providing protective covering as specified in SFLC Std Spec 5100, subsection 3.1.2 (Protective measures), provide additional protective covering for all food preparation and serving surfaces that may be affected by cleaning work, as applicable, to prevent contamination. Interferences. The Contractor shall handle all interferences in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 0000, paragraph 3.3.5 (Interferences). Known interferences include, but are not limited to the below-listed Ducting Screens. Overhead sheating and panels. Ventilation covers. Operation test - general Operational test - initial. Prior to commencement of work, the Contractor shall witness an operationl pre-test (By Coast Guard personnel) of the Gaylord hood system included in this work item, to demonstrate existing operational condition. Submit a CFR. Cleaning particulars. Using Coast Guard Drawing 87 WPB 514-001, and 87 WPB 651-001 as guidance, the Contractor shall accomplish the following: Contractor shall clean the entire Gaylord hood system in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 5100. Provide COTR written notification 48 hours prior to start of work. Mark the position of all diverting, balance, and splitter dampers prior to disassembly and restore to original configuration at reassembly. Operational test - post repairs. In the presence of the Coast Guard Inspector, the Contractor shall thoroughly test and prove the disturbed Gaylord hood system to be in satisfactory operating condition (see 4.1 (Equipment Operation)). Repair all leaks. Submit a CFR. Touch-up preservation, general. The Contractor shall prepare and coat all new and disturbed exterior and interior surfaces, as applicable, to match existing adjacent surfaces in accordance with SFLC Std Spec 6310, paragraph 3.1.13 (Touch-ups and minor coating repairs). 3. SITE VISIT: All bidders are strongly encouraged to visit the site to field verify any/all quantities before submitting bids.
