- This Sources Sought Notice is for informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought notice is to determine the following: The interest and capability of small business, especially service disabled veteran owned small business (SDVOSB) and veteran owned small business (VOSB); Whether the business source is a manufacturer or authorized distributor, verified by an authorization letter from the original equipment manufacturer; and Size classification relative to the North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 221330 for the proposed acquisition. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 10 is seeking potential sources for the VA Medical Center Dayton to purchase a steam quality controller system. Effective steam sterilization requires 97% minimum to ensure sterile packs and efficient equipment operation. The Maxi-Therm packaged steam quality controlling system is an automated solution to maintain 97% or greater steam quality level with steam-to-steam conditioning technology. All items shall be new; refurbished/used items are not acceptable. Brand name or equal requirements: SALIENT CHARACTERISTICS OF SELECT ITEMS FOR EVALUATION PURPOSES Item Brand/Model Or Equal Packaged Steam Quality Controlling System SQC-2200LB-60H-40L Minimum Salient Characteristics: Must perform all the following measurements: Must maintain 97% or greater steam quality level with steam-to-steam conditioning technology. Must be able to provide conditioned 2,200 lbs/hr of steam, with an output of at least 40 psig of conditioned steam using 60 psig input primary steam for the sterilization process for all sterilization equipment located in the lower level of SPD. All components required to make the system function must be provided and pre-assembled. This includes but is not limited to: -Steam separator on primary steam and conditioned steam inlets -Electronic modulating control valve, normally closed, on primary steam inlet -Shell & tube heat exchanger -Pressure gauges as required -Temperature sensors -NEMA 4-12 control panel with temperature controller with: -Dry Contacts for alarm monitoring -Analog input for remote setpoint change -Steam Traps as required -All piping, flanges, unions, and fittings to be carbon steel schedule 40 on the steam side and schedule 80 on the condensate side" -Self-Contained in a heavy-duty steel frame Provide start-up testing. Any contractor that believes they are capable and desires to claim preference for small business status must be registered with the SBA and meet the requirements of FAR 19.102. Any contractor that believes they are capable and desires to claim preference for veteran owned small business status must be registered with the Vendor Information Pages (VIP) at https://www.vip.vetbiz.gov as an SDVOSB or VOSB.
