Description

The U.S. Secret Service (USSS) intends to negotiate on a sole source basis with Gemalto Cogent, Inc., for proprietary maintenance on an estimated 123 Live-Scan workstations and printers located in USSS Field Offices throughout the United States for a period of performance from the date of award plus 12 months. The current Live-Scan units utilize Gemalto Cogent, Inc.'s hardware and software components for use are expected because the software and system integration is based on and consisting of Gemalto Cogent, Inc.'s proprietary knowledge base and technology. This information is not leased or contracted out to a third party maintenance provider and therefore can only be provide by a Gemalto Cogent, Inc., service provider. This notice of intent is neither a request for quotation nor a solicitation of offers. Based on this requirement, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with one source under the authority of FAR 6.302. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed requirement on a full and open competitive basis upon receipt of responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. No formal solicitation package is available. Only written e-mail to leslie.smith2@usss.dhs.gov inquiries will be responded to and must be received no later than 3:00 pm, EST, March 30, 2017. The Government will not be responsible for any cost incurred in responding to this notice.
