Description

THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION FOR QUOTES. THIS IS A NOTICE OF INTENT TO EXERCISE OPTION YEAR I AND TO INCLUDE OPTION YEAR II FOR AN ACTIVE PURCHASE ORDER. This is a Notice of Intent to Exercise Option year I in accordance wilth FAR Clause 52.217-9, Option to Extend the Term of the Contract. The Bureau of Reclamation, Montana Area Office intends to issue a modification to exercise Option Year I of purchase order number R17PX00653. The modification will extend services until March 31, 2019. This special notice also notifies all vendors that the purchase order also includes an Option Year II with a period of performance from April 1, 2019 through March 31, 2020. The work requires monitoring of piping plovers at Nelson Reservoir. Monitoring takes places during the nesting season; April through August. This work also includes possible relocation of piping plover nests if the nests are at risk of flooding due to rising water levels at the Reservoir. If a nest is determined to be at risk, it must be relocated. In order to relocate the nest, permits from the Montana Fish, Wildlife, and Parks must be obtained, and the nest must be relocated in accordance with specific guidelines directed by FWS. Correct relocation must be completed by an experienced and knowledgeable Wildlife Biologist. Since Reclamation believes that only one responsible source can fully provide the services that will satisfy the agency's requirements, a Justification for Other Than Full and Open Competition has been completed. The Government anticipates the modification to be completed on March 28, 2018.
