- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT/REQUEST FOR INFORMATION NOTICE FOR MARKET RESEARCH AND PLANNING PURPOSES ONLY. No solicitation is currently available; no unsolicited proposals will be accepted as a result of this Sources Sought/Request for Information. Responses are due by March 28, 2018 at 8:00 a.m. Mountain Time. This Sources Sought/Request for Information is in support of market research being conducted by General Services Administration (GSA), Denver CO to seek industry input from all sources (small and large businesses) to determine acquisition strategy to obtain non-personal services to inventory to include documenting location, inspecting, recharging, testing and replacing (if necessary) approximately 1400 Portable Fire Extinguishers located within the Department of Defense Education Activity (DoDEA) schools located on military installations within the Continental United States (CONUS) and abroad throughout the Pacific and Europe. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) for this requirement is tentatively 811310, Commercial and Industrial Machinery and Equipment (except automotive and Electronic) Repair and Maintenance with corresponding size standard of $7.5M. Government will consider other applicable NAICS, if recommended. A determination regarding set aside status for this effort has not been determined. The Government is seeking the following information from industry; additional considerations/questions the Government should consider is appreciated: 1) How much does it cost and how long does it take to inspect portable fire extinguishers? •b) 2) H ow much does it cost and how long does it take to recharge portable fire extinguishers? •c) 3) How much does it cost and how long does it take to test portable fire extinguishers? •d) 4) What type of contract would you suggest to include a hybrid (i.e., Firm Fixed Price, Cost Reimbursable and/or Labor Hour)? Please provide explanation for recommendation. •e) 5) Can fire extinguishers be shipped abroad (i.e., overseas)? If so, are there special unique requirements for shipping? If not, how would you accomplish task. •f) 6) Is your company cleared to enter the various countries? If so, what countries? •g) 7) I s there a cost to dispose of fire extinguishers? If so, is there a standard disposal cost? •h) 8) Are there any environmental considerations that should be taken into place? If so, what are they? •i) 9) Is it possible to ship fire extinguishers to specific locations within the US to be serviced and then shipped to a destination overseas? Is this a viable option?
