- Description
- UTV Subject: Statement of Work Description of Contract Action: Contract action will purchase two, 2018 John Deere Gator XUV 825M (or equivalent) utility vehicles. The John Deere Gator XUV 825M (or equivalent) is a Crossover Utility Vehicle (XUV) that will aid Illinois WS in wildlife damage management projects throughout the state. The XUV will be used in extreme weather conditions including extreme cold, deep snow, ice, and rain with frequent starts/stops and on/off. Based on these operating conditions, we require a gasoline engine that has a minimum of 50 horse power and a minimum of 11 inches of ground clearance, and all-wheel drive capability. The XUV will carry/tow large amounts of equipment as well as wildlife removed during disease/damage management operations, therefore we require a minimum bed size of 45x52x12 inches and a minimum bed payload of 1,000 pounds. The overall XUV payload needs to be a minimum of 1,400 pounds. Due to size limitations of the trailers used to haul the XUV to the field site, we require that the overall length of the vehicle be < 144 inches. When conducting wildlife damage management activities staff are often standing in the bed using equipment while the XUV is moving at low speeds, and sudden starts/stops can cause injury to staff. To reduce the chance of this type of injury, we require a non-hydrostatic transmission on the XUV. The XUV will be used in remote, hard to access environments, so a 3500lb winch with capability of use from both the front and rear of the machine is required to reduce the chance of being stranded while conducting wildlife damage management operations. We require that the color of the machine be a drab color (no bright colors). We also require all of the necessary wiring and cables be provided to run the winch. We require a front brush guard and a rear bumper with rear fender protectors to reduce damage to the XUV while conducting work in brushy, wooded areas. We require CV guards on the front and rear of the machine to reduce damage to CV joints on the machine while operating in brushy, wooded areas. We also require the machine to have a maximum of 4 wheels (no 6x6) to allow ease of maneuvering in heavily timbered and remote areas. 2018 UTV ORDER SPECS HP 50 50 HP or more so XUV can pull a trailer with equipment to field sites. CC 812 This size or larger so XUV can pull a trailer with equipment to field sites. Fuel type Gasoline: Needed for winter use, and the work requires the constant turning the engine on and off. Transmission Continuously Variable Transmission No hydrostatic transmission. Box dimensions ≥ 45 x 12 x 52 in. This size or larger, at least 45" long and 52" wide is required to fit the equipment needed for the work. Box capacity ≥ 1000 lb. This capacity or more is needed to haul equipment to the field sites. Ground clearance ≥ 11 in this clearance or more is needed in order to reach the remotes sites in winter. Payload ≥ 1,400 lb. This payload or more is needed to haul equipment to the field sites. Wheelbase ≤ 79 in Wheelbase 79" or shorter in order to maneuver in tight areas. Maximum vehicle length < 144 in UTV needs to fit on a 12 foot trailer so all our current trailers can be used to haul it. We are requesting the following options: Color Must be dark, no bright colors. Power steering needed to reduce injury to employees driving vehicle in rough terrain Bench seat needed to be able to comfortably fit the various sizes of employees. Manual bed lift Want to be able to operate the bed when the XUV is off. Metal rear bumper XUV will be operated on remote trails at night. Heavy Duty Front Brush guard XUV will be operated on remote trails at night. Metal rear fender guards XUV will be operated on remote trails at night. 2 in Drawbar needed to be able to pull a trailer to field sites. Rear CV Guards XUV will be used on remote trails. Front CV Guards XUV will be used on remote trails. Winch 3500 lb. This size or larger. Winch needed because UTV will be used in remote areas. 3500 lb. Winch Receiver Mount Mount is needed so winch can be put on either the front or rear of the UTV.
