- THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY This RFI is issued solely for information and planning purposes and to identify interested sources. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. No contract will be awarded from this announcement. This RFI does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. It is subject to change and is not binding on the Government. Further, unsolicited proposals will not be accepted. Funding is not available at this time. The United States Army has not made a commitment to procure any of the items discussed, and release of this RFI should not be construed as such a commitment or as authorization to incur cost for which reimbursement would be required or sought. Response to this RFI is voluntary and no reimbursement will be made for any costs associated with providing information in response to this and any follow-on information requests. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. N ot responding to this RFI does not preclude participation in any future RFP if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized in the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential responders to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this subject. Synopsis: The U. S. Army Contracting Command - Natick (Orlando) intends to procure, by contract modification, additional hardware items & services for the Shadow 200 Unmanned Aircraft System (UAS) due to an increase in the Army Acquisition Objective (AAO) from 104 systems to 115 systems. This is a planned sole source modification to the existing contract to AAI Corporation (CAGE 97384), the original equipment manufacturer of the Shadow UAS. The proposed contract action is for an increase to the current contract ceiling for supplies and/or services and for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under authority of FAR 6.302. Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of market research. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain information on industry capability to provide Contractor Logistics Support (CLS) and Sustainment of the SHADOW Tactical Unmanned Aircraft (TUAS), for a period of through the ending date of the existing contract, which is October 31, 2018, specifically for additional: Universal Ground Control Stations (UGCS), High-Powered Launchers, RQ-7Bv2 Air Vehicles, and RQ-7B v1 Resets. In addition, this effort is for Block III Air Vehicle Kits which contain the parts to incorporate the UEL AR80-2000 engine, Air Vehicle Weatherization, Joint Tactical Radio System (JTRS), VoiceOver Internet Protocol (VOIP), and Universal Payload A-Kit into the RQ-7Bv2 Air Vehicle. Potential responders must be able to maintain interoperability with the UAS Ground Control Stations, OSRVTs, and Army Aviation Platforms. Additionally, responses may include data that vendors do not want disclosed to the public for any purpose, or used by the Government except for information purposes. If your company wishes to restrict the data, the title page must be marked with the following legend: Use and Disclosure of Data: This response includes data that shall not be disclosed outside the Government and shall not be duplicated, used, or disclosed -- in whole or in part -- for any purpose other than to evaluate this response. This restriction does not limit the Government's right to use information contained in these data if they are obtained from another source without restriction. The data subject to this restriction are contained in Data Sheets [insert numbers or other identification of sheets]. Your company may also mark each sheet of data it wishes to restrict with the following legend: "Use or disclosure of data contained on this sheet is subject to the restriction on the title page of this response."
