Description
NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) intends to award a sole source contract award to G. A. BRAUN, INC 79 GENERAL IRWIN BLVD, NORTH SYRACUSE, NY, 13212-3413. Contract period of performance will be 30 days from award. This is a one-time repair. The equipment is located at: VAMC CANANDAIGUA, 400 Fort Hill Ave, Canandaigua, NY 14424 This requirement is to repair one Braun 400TSL 400lb Industrial Washer as detailed below: A. The contractor will be required to remove the existing Braun 400TSL drive deck and skidding and dispose of all components not required for the installation of the new drive deck/skidding assembly. This includes any plumbing water supplies/drains, electrical connections, steam connections and exhaust connections. B. The contractor must coordinate utility shut downs a minimum of 72 Hours in advance of washer removal with COR and notify COR as soon as possible upon completion to coordinate utilities being placed back in service. C. The contractor will provide all new electrical connections to the New 400 TSL drive deck and required components to the unit to ensure the system works and is fully operational. This will include providing power from local panel boxes and/or junction boxes with prior approval of COR. D. The contractor must provide all new plumbing connections to the unit. This includes water supply lines and drainage lines as required for operation. Any water filtration systems/RO systems or water softeners must also be connected to the new washer/disinfector and calibrated to the appropriate levels. The contractor will also be required to install all steam supply lines and exhaust for proper operation as per manufacturer s specifications. E. The contractor must trim all panels around the washer unit to ensure a waterproof seal. All panels must meet OEM equipment standards. All panels must have clean/straight edging and fit securely to the washer/deck and surrounding wall cavities/spaces. Gaps and spaces must be caulked for airtight seal and prevent dust intrusion. F. Prior to commencing work, the contractor will commence a walkthrough with the COR to layout specific locations and address any discrepancies that may arise. G. The contractor will provide a one year warranty for the installation/workmanship of installation for the unit unless the unit comes with a standard commercial warranty of longer than one year in which the latter will be the required warranty period. H. The contractor will be given a period of three calendar days to complete the removal of the existing damaged equipment and replace with new and ensure proper operation prior to COR acceptance. The duration of work shall be concluded during normal operating hours (M-F, 8am to 5pm.) These hours are subject to change to meet the needs of the Medical Center. The contractor may work outside of normal hours with prior approval of COR. All final installations must be certified and adjusted/calibrated by a certified GA Braun service technician. The equipment and installation must be inspected prior to use by the COR to ensure project quality and completion. The machine must run for a period of no less than one shift (8 hr. period in a single day). This repair must be certified by GA Braun the OEM (Original Equipment Manufacturer). GA Braun does not currently have any authorized repair technicians other than their own in the area. Another failure of this equipment in this manner has the potential to injury personnel working around this equipment. Therefore, it is necessary for the OEM certify to the quality of this repair before the equipment is brought back into service. THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by March 20, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. (EST). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to joseph.cellino@va.gov.
