Description

Pre-Solicitation Notice for notice of intent to award a sole source contract. This is not a solicitation. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends to negotiate a sole source award for a 12 month base and (4) annual option years to obtain preventative maintenance and support services for the (7) Volcano Intravascular Ultrasound (IVUS) machines for the Boston VAMC. Volcano Corporation located at 3721 Valley Center Drive, San Diego, CA 92130 is the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) for this medical equipment. Due to their proprietary technology, they are the only vendor that will be able to service these machines as the Authorized Service Provider. Since the intent is to procure these services on a sole source basis, no solicitation will be posted to FedBizOps (FBO). The applicable NAICS code is 811219. The FSC/PSC is J065. The authority for applying the Simplified Procedures for Commercial Items of FAR 13.5 is 41 U.S.C. 1901 and is implemented by for restricting competition on this procurement via FAR 13.106-1(b)(2).
