Page 1 of 1 The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 4/1/2018 3/31/2019 for The Contractor will provide, within the scope of veterinary services, all necessary labor, skills, and recommendations required to support animal studies within the purview of NWI Research. This contract is to provide veterinary services for the animal research program at the Omaha VA Medical Center. The work will provide the Research Service with veterinary expertise regarding the performance and compliance of animal research. The University of Nebraska Medical Center (UNMC), Department of Comparative Medicine, has the unique capabilities and expertise to provide the Omaha VA Medical Center with the veterinary research support outlined in this contract. The existing affiliate relationship with UNMC has created unique familiarity and knowledge of animal research projects being performed by VA employees, to include projects being conducted in VA leased space at UNMC, as well as all projects being performed by investigators holding dual appointments at both UNMC and the VA. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0425 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 4/1/2018. The deadline to submit a quote is 3/9/2018.
