Description
Scope of Work. These specifications define the requirements of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the construction to re-roof the RTR facility at Harlingen, Texas. The Contractor is required to furnish all labor, equipment, tools, and materials for the entire project. The work at the facility consists of the following: 1. The Contractor to provide 4 sets of shop drawings or product information for review and approval. 2. Remove the existing roof system, tar and gravel (rectangular 10 ™+/- by 24 ™+/-), down to the sub-strait or verify that the new roof system can be applied over the existing old roof. Repairs to roofing sub-layers will be done by the Contractor during the work. 3. Install a new granular surfaced, hot mopped, single-ply modified bitumen roofing system as specified, including roof edge flashing. The roofing system shall be UL approved. The RTR roof is approximately 24 ™ x 10 ™, about 240 sq. ft. The Contractor will not be required to modify, replace, or repair the bolts except for their own negligence. The Contractor shall be approved in writing by the manufacturer for installation of this roof type. 4. Repair the wall spalls with concrete patches suitable for the size of the spalls. The concrete patch shall include pea or angular gravel. 5. Seal the existing concrete cracks with a high quality concrete and masonry sealer to prevent water intrusion. 6. Complete any punch list items. 7. Clean up the site to the COR ™s satisfaction. Site Location. The RTR facility is located in Harlingen, Texas. The HRLA RTR site is located in the Valley International Airport property, Northeast of Runway 31and West of Runway 35R. Detailed directions to the facility are available by contacting Mr. Jose R.
