Description
AMENDMENT: The Magnitude of the Construction project is between $100,000 and $250,000. The planned place of performance is the Long Beach VAMC, Bldg. 133, 5901 E. 7th St., Long Beach, CA 90822. This solicitation is a Total Set-Aside for Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB). Contract Title. Remove and Replace Existing Roof and HVAC Duct on building 133 Background. Due to the age of building 133, VA need to remove and replace approximately 860 Square Feet of roof materials and HVAC duct work because when it rains in this connecting corridor it leaks on patients and staff. Scope. The contractor will remove and replace approximately 860 Square Feet of existing 4 X 3 HVAC duct work to allow access to existing roof. Run temporary 30 duct work to maintain airflow from main mechanical room in the corridor to main Bldg. 133. Remove and replace approximately 860 square feet of roof. After the roofing is completed the contractor shall replace existing duct and reseal all joints. The contractor shall do the following: On the LWIC Deck of building 133: tear off existing built up roof and haul way. Install ¼ densdeck in adhesive, install 60 mil SarjafiG410 adhered. Replace wood sleepers preventing roof water from getting into the drain and replace with Porta Pipe support. Fabricate new coping expansion joint metal with 24 gauge Kynar. On metal Deck of building 133: tear off existing roof and haul way. Install 4 insulation and ¼ densdeck board mechanically fastened. Contractor is to install 60mil G410 Sarnafil adhered and fabricate new coping in that area. Contractor shall wrap all pipe penetrations with Sarnafil. Single Ply Roof: contractor shall repair only over mechanical room where existing roof is blistered, and cut out 4 X 6 area and replace with new 4 insulation and patch with a compatible single ply roof membrane to match existing Survey and repair any damage roof sheathing with same or better materials. Repairs shall be of same construction as existing and capable of accepting the installation of the new roofing materials. Roof repairs shall be inspected and approved by the Supervisor prior to proceeding with the remainder of the work Remove obstructions and or debris from roof surfaces designated for the roofing materials Repair and reseal all existing roof penetrations All adjacent disturbed surfaces shall be repaired to the same quality standards 5-PERIOD PERFORMANCE: Performance period for this contract will be no more than 45 days. DEMO Fence-off all working areas that are in pedestrian traffic. Stage work vehicles in approved locations. Secure AC units, exhaust fans, & other equipment during the demo. Remove all debris from roof. Remove existing membrane and felt from roof to expose decking Clean entire surface of roof. 7. Walk roof with COR to ascertain any areas of faulty sub materials that show deflection.
