Sources Sought National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) Acquisition Management Division Sources Sought for Commercial Item Purchase The National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) seeks information on vendors that can provide a PrimeNano ScanWave System 1.5. BACKGROUND: The request is for the purchase of a PrimeNano ScanWave System 1.5, an upgrade for Oxford Instruments Asylum Research Inc. MFP-3D AFM microscope. The ScanWave System 1.5 offers high frequency add-on to the Asylum Research 3 AFM. The system is equipped with matching circuitry, and corresponding electronics, as well as with the necessary software to full operation. The ScanWave System 1.5 AFM is designed and manufactured by PrimeNano Inc., and works exclusively with the listed unit. PURPOSE: The Oxford Instruments Asylum Research Inc. MFP-3D AFM is a part of UV Fluorescence microscope designed for investigation of biological systems. The requested "The ScanWave System 1.5" is an upgrade specifically designed to attach to Oxford/Asylum microscope and extends its capabilities into microwave frequency range allowing the combined optical and RF investigation, in addition to biological applications, of semiconducting 2D, photovoltaic and integrated optics devices. Specifications: The ScanWave 1.5 upgrade must: •Be compatible with MFP-3D Oxford Instruments Asylum Research atomic force microscope •Operate in GHz frequency range (3 GHz) •Include necessary electronics •Training •Specified warranty Deliverables: PrimeNano ScanWave System 1.5 for Asylum Research MFP-3D AFM microscope Delivery: 4-6 weeks of receipt of order. This announcement is not a Request for Quotation (RFQ) and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. No solicitation is available. The purpose of this sources-sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to meet the requirements of the item(s) stated herein. After results of this market research are obtained, analyzed and compared with NIST's minimum requirement(s). NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. If at least two qualified small businesses are identified during this market research stage, then this acquisition may be solicited as a small business set aside. NIST is seeking responses from all responsible sources, including large and small businesses. This requirement is assigned a NAICS code of 334516. The specific purpose of this Sources Sought Announcement is to determine if there are small businesses, within the parameters identified above, that can provide the product(s) identified.
