Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command-New Jersey (ACC-NJ), on behalf of the Project Manager-Close Combat Systems (PM-CCS) intends to issue a solicitation to Saab Dynamics AB, Karlskoga, Sweden, pursuant to Title 10 United States Code (U.S.C.) Section 2304(c)(1), as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements. The anticipated solicitation is for the manufacture and delivery of the 84mm Anti-Tank (AT4) Munitions and 84mm Multi-Role Anti-Armor / Anti-Personnel Weapon System (MAAWS) ammunition. The 84mm Anti-Tank (AT4) Munitions are hand-held, disposable, stand-alone, direct fire Shoulder Launched Munition (SLM) designed to defeat multiple targets. The 84mm MAAWS ammunition supports the operational and training requirements for the M3 Carl Gustaf recoilless rifle. The MAAWS ammunition are designed to defeat multiple targets. The AT4-MAAWS are combat-proven to defeat armor targets, destroy earth and timber bunker field fortifications, provide personnel support to dismounted infantry as well as defeat buildings, walls, and cave complexes in the short range, and close combat fight where other direct and indirect fire systems are incapable of operating or are tactically ineffective due to the risk of collateral damage. The manufacture, inspection, testing and delivery of the above items shall be in accordance with the intended solicitation requirements and proprietary data of the sole source producer. The anticipated requirement will be a five (5) year Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ), with five (5) twelve (12) month ordering periods. THIS NOTICE DOES NOT CONSTITUTE A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL (RFP)/solicitation. This is not a guarantee of a future RFP/solicitation or a contract award. This presolicitation notice should not be construed as a commitment of any kind by the U.S. Government. Proposals under this synopsis are not requested, however, should a firm believe they possess the capabilities stated herein, it may submit a response for review by the Government. It is anticipated that a solicitation may be issued to the sole source on or about 20 March 2018.
