- Description
- Multiscale modeling and simulation of advanced manufacturing using high-performance computing and machine learning Background Information Sandia National Laboratories has advanced computational, experimental, and data analytical technologies that have the potential to significantly promote advanced manufacturing such as 3D Printing. Sandia is conducting ongoing research and development into further advancement in these areas through the development of multiscale, multiphysics modeling, and machine learning. These improvements are expected to significantly impact the ability to model, optimize, and control key aspects of advanced manufacturing methodologies. Sandia's capabilities include high-performance computing, massively parallel modeling and simulation software, advanced experimental capabilities, application of verification, validation and uncertainty quantification methodologies to high-consequence engineering problems. Opportunity Description Sandia's primary focus is in seeking a company or companies interested in collaboration opportunities leading to improvements and advances in manufacturing. Collaborations will take the form of Cooperative Research & Development Agreements (CRADA), or Licensing agreements. Interested companies must have experience, expertise, or strong application need in one or more of the following areas: •Advanced manufacturing (e.g. 3D printing) •Data analytics, machine learning •Modeling and simulation with strong need for high-performance computing •Multiscale and multiphysics simulations. Mandatory Requirements: 1)U.S. companies able to enter into a CRADA agreement with Sandia National Laboratories, which requires in-kind contribution in the form of laboratory staff and instrumentation 2)U.S. companies capable of providing funds-in 3)Demonstrated experience in bringing products to market In addition to evaluating the provided information as outlined above, Sandia will evaluate all responses and select prospective parties with which to engage in further discussions based on the following criteria, pursuant to Sandia's technology transfer mission: 1)How will the respondent deploy the technology for the benefit of the U.S. public good? 2)How will the respondent's deployment of the technology benefit U.S. economic competitiveness? To express interest and to obtain further information, please contact Dr.Theron Rodgers via email at trodger@sandia.gov. Sandia is a multi-program laboratory operated by National Technology and Engineering Solutions of Sandia, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Honeywell International, Inc.for the United States Department of Energy's National Nuclear Security
