Your requirement is asking for an Antenna capable of surviving sustained 185 mph winds. In our assessment these Military antennas are rated to 150MPH. Would the Government please consider making the surviving wind speed 150 MPH vs 180 MPH. Must be rated to survive sustained winds of 185 mph •2. The salient characteristics #4 & #5 in the RFQ only mentions "antenna elevation system" which we assume is required to put antenna into birdbath position for wind events. Is that correct? Yes, correct. •3. Does the system also require motorized antenna azimuth pointing as well (i.e. for pointing to a new satellite)? No. •4. Are pointing tools such as compass, inclinometer, GPS and spectrum analyzer and software GUI interface required or preferred for easier pointing? No. •5. Is a Factory Acceptance Test (FAT) required? The government must receive certification from the vendor that their product can meet the government's requirements. If a FAT certifies the product meets the government's requirement it is acceptable. •6. Is 3 rd party validation of any set of specifications required? (e.g. wind load) No, 3 rd party validation is not required. •7. Does the customer require any vendor validation of any specifications? (e.g. wind load) The government must receive certificatio from the vendor that their product can meet the government's requirements. In particular, ANSI/TIA-222-G, Structural Standard for Antenna Supporting Structures and Antennas. •8. Since no installation or commissioning services are required, is it safe to assume that the customer will handle all IFL cabling required? If not, how long does the cabling need to be? The government shall handle all Interfacility Link (IFL) cabling. The government shall require, from the vendor, detailed information about the wiring standard and cabling required for the installation of the antenna and its control system. •9. Does this system require circular polarization or linear polarization? The government requires circular polarization. •10. Can the RFQ be extended to at least 9 March 2018, if not 16 MAR, to allow us time to prepare a quote? Date has been extended until 6 March 2018. •11. Will the end user accept a motorized antenna system that meets 200kph (124mph) instead of 185 mph? The government requirement for the antenna states it must meet 185mph. Anything less than 185 is NO, not acceptable.
