Description
The following questions and issues were brought up: A]. Drawing# 5763lP011 sheet 1 0f 3, Forward Closeout Ring Frame.Drawing Note 8 States: "Compare Drawing information Model File 5763LP01 PRT to report difference to the Design Engineer before proceeding with manufacturing of part." Are we required to do this and if so where is the Model and how do we get access to same? Answer- : The 5763LP01.PRT refers to the digital master model and the drawing specifies tolerances and other clarifications. If the two do not agree in the mind of the estimator of the vendor, we need to talk. The STP master model file is attached above. B]. Drawing # 5763LP05-B l,two sheets, Longeron. Drawing specifies 6061-T6, Aluminum Material. 6061 Material, easily cracks. We suggest Aluminum 5052-H32. Answer- 6061-T6 required to meet strength desired. Generally speaking,.19 RAD would leave possibility of cracking with.090 thk material. However, we accomplish success with press-brake bending of that radius and that alloy of that thickness thru use of "air bending" (deep V groove die), or pivoting bed die on our press brake. Both used with.19 radius bull nose on the brake. Unfortunately, our machinery will not accommodate a piece of that length on -05 piece. C]. Re: Bent sheet metal,on all other drawings where sheet metal is bent. drawings call for 6061-T6 Aluminum material,we suggest using Aluminum 5052-H32 for reason stated above in section C. Answer- Same as question A, air bend or pivoting-bed brake, with appropriate bull nose. D]. Surface Finish, we will use 63 rms finish for all all cut or machined surfaces. Answer- 63 RMS OK E]. Where Gold Anodize Mil-A-8625-Type II,Class2 is specified. Do you require a Sealer? Sealing is hydrating the Aluminum Oxide. The hydrated molecule is larger than plain Aluminum Oxide, and this "clogs" the pores and retards corrosion. Type of Sealer: Nickel Acetate (the most popular and clear), Cobalt Acetate, Plain Hot Water (no toxicity. Sealers are not"clear coat". Answer- No sealer required. ATTENTION: IF YOU HAVE FURTHER QUESTIONS ABOUT THE DRAWINGS/DIAGRAMS OF THE MACHINED PARTS--I CAN A DIGITAL DRAFTING FILE TO BE VIEWED WITH CNC EQUIPMENT....EMAIL DIRECTLY AND I CAN FORWARD TO YOU AS THIS SORT OF DRAFTING FILE CANNOT BE UPLOADED AS AN ATTACHMENT.
