- 18SNB57_ATT N00164-18-S-NB57- REQUEST FOR INFORMATION/SOURCES SOUGHT - POLY-JET 3D PRINTER - FSC 3695 - NAICS 333249 Issue Date: 27 FEBRUARY 2018 - Closing Date: 16 MARCH 2018 - 2:00 PM EDT 1. SCOPE The Government is issuing this Request for Information/Source Sought (RFI/SS) in an effort to determine if the Government's salient characteristics for a Poly-jet 3D printer can be met by the 3D printer manufacturing industry. Any information submitted by respondents to this request is strictly voluntary. This is not a request for proposal, request for quotation, or invitation for bid, nor does its issuance obligate or restrict the Government to an eventual acquisition approach. The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of responses from this RFI/SS or pay for the preparation of any information submitted or for the use of such information. All information received from this RFI/SS will be used for market research purposes only. To the maximum extent possible, please submit non-proprietary information. Any proprietary information submitted should be identified as such and will be properly protected from disclosure. The Government shall not be liable for damages related to proprietary information that is not properly identified. Proprietary information will be safeguarded in accordance with the applicable Government regulations. Responses to the RFI/SS will not be returned. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This RFI/SS is issued solely for informational purposes. It does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This RFI/SS does not commit the Government to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Responders are advised that the Government will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this RFI/SS. All costs associated with responding to this RFI/SS will be solely at the interested parties' expense. Not responding to this RFI/SS does not preclude participation in any future RFP, if any is issued. If a solicitation is released, it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the interested vendor to monitor these sites for additional information pertaining to this requirement. 2. PURPOSE The purpose of this RFI/SS is to determine whether or not the 3D printer manufacturing industry can manufacture a Poly-jet 3D printer with the salient characteristics provided in the attachment. Questions with regard to this RFI/SS are requested to be submitted by e-mail to: Steven Junkins, Contract Specialist, at steven.junkins1@navy.mil Verbal questions will not be accepted. All questions will be answered by e-mail. Questions shall NOT contain trade secrets or classified information. The Government does not guarantee that questions received after the due date will be answered. 3. RESPONSES The responses shall be submitted via e-mail only to: Steven Junkins, Contract Specialist, at steven.junkins1@navy.mil Responses are due NLT 16 March 2017. Proprietary information, if any, must be clearly marked. No Classified submittals will be accepted. To aid the Government with this request, please clearly identify and segregate proprietary information. Please be advised that all submissions become Government property and will not be returned. Any response submitted by respondents to this request constitutes consent for that submission to be reviewed by the Government. The responses may be forwarded to other Government entities in consideration for applicability to other programs. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to provide feedback with respect to any information submitted. All submissions become Government property and will not be returned. All personnel reviewing RFI/SS responses understand their responsibility for proper use and protection from unauthorized disclosures.
