- Forklift Specification REQUIREMENT: This SOURCES SOUGHT notice is issued by the Mission and Installation Contracting Command (MICC), Fort Hood, Killeen, Texas. For informational and planning purposes only and shall not be construed as a solicitation or as an obligation or commitment by the Government. This notice is intended strictly for market research pursuant to FAR Part 10. This is NOT a solicitation for proposal, proposal abstracts, or quotations. No solicitation exits at this time. The purpose of this notice is to obtain information regarding the availability and capability of qualified businesses that are capable of executing this potential contract. The Government is not obligated and will not pay for time and effort in response to this Market Research requirement. Your response to the information requested will assist the Government in determining the appropriate acquisition method. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to: (1) determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists, (2) determine if commercial items (Supplies) suitable to meet the agency's needs are available or could be modified to meet the agency's requirements, and (3) determine the commercial practices of company's engaged in providing the needed service or supply. Pursuant to FAR Part 6 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. Answer: Pavement and concrete flooring. (2) Does the proposed Forklift must be Spark or Explosive proof? Answer: No. Though it would be a plus. (3) Can this requirement for electric be substituted for Clean Burn Diesel with scrubbers (Tier 4) or Liquid Propane? Answer: Electric or Diesel is acceptable, Gas or Propane are NOT acceptable (in Fact prohibited in the environment it'll be operating in).
