Page 1 of 1 INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract for the Design-Bid-Build Replace Steam Traps and Correct Condensate Over Pressurization project at the Iowa City, IA VA Medical Center. PROJECT DESCRIPTION: This project will replace steam traps that are failing and beyond their current life expectancy in Buildings 1 and 2. The project shall also upgrade the facility condensate return system and correct condensate over pressurization problems. This will also include replacement of risers, branch lines, and equipment. Both existing and new piping shall be labeled correctly. Work will include demolition, mechanical, plumbing, electrical, structural, asbestos abatement, and architectural work as dictated by project needs. Complete all work in accordance with Phasing Requirements. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Offers received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 238220 with a size standard of $15.0 million. The solicitation will be issued on or about March 12, 2018. The period of performance is approximately 971 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. This notice is not a request for competitive offers. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $2,000,000.00 and $5,000,000.00. All questions must be submitted in writing to the issuing office via email to jason.shultz@va.gov.
