Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 1/1/2018 to 12/31/2018 for The University of Iowa will provide services of personnel with expertise in mouse breeding, genotyping, and general husbandry. Mice will be tested for light aversion and blink studies in relation to photosensitivity. Personnel services will also be provided to perform surgical implantation of recording electrodes and telemetry units. These services will be carried out in the Department of Physiology at the University of Iowa. The methods identified in the study are practical and would be implemented into clinical practice and clinical trials if proven useful. It is necessary to use the services of the University of Iowa to meet the requirements of the grant proposal under the grant Photosensitivity as a preclinical assessment for treatment of post-traumatic headache, Principal Investigators: Andrew Russo, PhD, and Andrew Pieper, MD, PhD, Grant #B2101-R. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0353 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 1/1/2018. The deadline to submit a quote is 12/22/2017.
