- Statement of Work Solicitation The purpose of this contract is to acquire sufficient cultural resources data for the successful completion of the requirements of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) of 1966, as amended. Section 106 of the NHPA and its implementing regulations at 36 CFR 800 requires the USDA-Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS), as a Federal agency, to take into account the effects of their undertakings on historic properties, as defined at 36 CFR 800.16 (l) (2) in consultation with specific properties. Consultation with State Historic Preservation Officers (SHPO), Tribal Historical Preservation Officers (THPO), federally recognized Indian tribes, as appropriate, as well as other interested parties, is required.
