Description
The Regional Health Contracting Office - Atlantic (RHCO-A), Womack Army Medical Center, Ft Bragg, North Carolina intents to Sole Source the below products as they are the only manufacturer that makes these products. ALERE 30 S Keller Road Suite 100 Orlando, FL 32810-6927 Products: 23 046 617 Alere I Instrument (with Scanner and Printer) 25 ea Womack Army Medical Center has a requirement for the procurement of the Alere TM i Molecular Instrument to conduct CLIA waived rapid molecular, isothermal nucleic acid amplification for influenza, RSV, and group A Streptococcus testing. This method includes direct specimen sample and results within 15 minutes. This platform is projected to expand to perform CLIA waived molecular Clostridium difficile. Our current method for influenza testing is to perform an invasive nasal wash, which is harsh for the pediatric and elderly patients. All Alere TM tests are performed by swabs which will alleviate the invasive and stressful procedure. The Alere TM i Strep A and Influenza kits will be procured through the Defense Medical Logistics Supply System, which is the preferred source for medical supply ordering for Womack Army Medical Center. Future kits will also be available in the system to order. The swabs provided with these kits are not kit specific; therefore any swab can be used as long as it is not calcium alginate. Our current, Strep kit is swab specific and there was an issue of running out of swabs in the ED last winter. This is not a request for quotes; however, if your company has information or products for future surgeries, please send your capabilities statement for review. All responses will be received no later than 19 February 2018 at 11:00 AM EST. For more information please contact Ms. Cynthia A. Richardson at Cynthia.a.richardson.civ@mail.mil
