- This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE / REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ; not a pre-solicitation notice or solicitation for proposals/quotations. Pursuant to FAR Part 10 (Market Research), the purpose of this notice is to determine if sources capable of satisfying the agency's requirements exists. Pursuant to FAR Part 13 and FAR Part 19, competition and set-aside decisions may be based on the results of this market research. This notice in no way obligates the Government to any further action. REQUIREMENT: This notice is issued by the Mid-Atlantic Regional Maintenance Center, Norfolk, VA to identify sources capable of providing the following: •· 2 ea. Cover, Housing, Oil Seal 0.19 thick, matched halves - PN: 98006PN11 The government intends to solicit to American Metal Bearing Company as a single source for the required parts. The American Metal Bearing Company is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the required parts. The parts required must be an American Metal Bearing Company part which complies with the Main Propulsion Line Shaft bearing (LSB 1-1) alignment. No other supplies or services will satisfy the Government's requirement. The material provided must be compatible in all aspects (form, fit, function) with existing systems presently installed. Required Delivery Date: 3 April 2018 Anticipated NAICS Code/Size Standard: The applicable NAICS Code is 333618, Other Engine Equipment Manufacturing; the size standard is 1,500 employees. Submission of Information: Companies having capabilities necessary to meet or exceed the stated requirements are invited to provide information to contribute to this market survey/sources sought notice including commercial market information and company information. All responses must include the following information: Company Name; Company Address; Company Business Size; and Point-of-Contact (POC) name, phone, fax number, lead time and e-mail address. This synopsis is published for informational purposes and does not constitute a request for competitive proposals. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability by submitting a written response to david.hamilton2@navy.mil no later than 7 days after the date of the publication of this notice. The written response shall reference RFP# N50054-18-R-0016 and provide a capability statement that clearly indicates the firm's experience, assets, background, and ability to perform the required work without compromising quality, accuracy, reliability and schedule. The capability statement shall be submitted in MS WORD or Adobe PDF form as an email attachment. The Government will consider all capability statements received prior to the closing date of this synopsis. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to compete this requirement as a small business set-a-side. A determination by the Government not to compete the proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. There are no commitments by the Government to issue any solicitations, make an award or awards, or to be responsible for any monies expended by any interested parties before award of a contract for the efforts mentioned above. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for or award a contact. No telephone responses will be accepted. No hard copies of the solicitation will be mailed. The Government reserves the right to use any information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate, including using technical information provided by respondents in any resultant solicitation. At this time no solicitation exists; therefore, Do Not Request a Copy of the Solicitation. After a review of the responses received, a pre-solicitation notice and solicitation may be published on Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the potential offeror's responsibility to monitor FedBizOpps for release of any future solicitation that may result from this Sources Sought Notice. However, responses to this Sources Sought Notice will not be considered adequate responses to any resultant solicitation.
