Description

The Department of Veteran Affairs, Iowa City, IA, intends to negotiate a sole source procurement under the authority FAR 6.302-3 with the University of Iowa for the period of 3/1/2018 to 2/28/2019 for The Contractor will provide labor and materials in support of research that will also test the hypothesize that ASICs contribute to over activity of afferent pathways in heart failure and contribute to associated pathological sympathoexcitation. The University of Iowa will provide necessary labor and materials to perform the specific aims listed in Dr. Christopher Benson s VA Merit Review #BX000776, 'Role of ASICs within sensory neurons in health and disease': 1) Determine the mechanisms by which ASICs contribute to exercise physiology and 2) Determine the contribution of ASICS to the dysautonomia associated with heart failure. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Request for quotes 36C26318Q0323 for above requirement, NAICS 611310, size standard $33.5 million will be issued on 3/1/2018. The deadline to submit a quote is 2/9/2018.
