The Army Contracting Command - Redstone Arsenal anticipates issuing a brand name firm‐fixed price IDIQ contract for the procurement of: Almen Strip Type A1S Date: February 2018 - February 2022 Extimated Min 300 Quanity Max 1500 Quanity Almen Strip Type N1S Date: February 2018 - February 2022 Extimated Min 300 Quanity Max 1500 Quanity Delivery Schedule in Boxes Description Jan - Mar Apr - Jun Jul - Sept Oct-Dec Almen Strip Type N1S 75 75 75 75 Almen Strip Type A1S 75 75 75 75 Electronics Inc. "A" strips for medium intensity applications. Electronics Inc. "N" strips used for low intensity applications. Type of Strips: "A" is used for shot peening with cast shot or cut wire shot. Thickness "A‐1S" =.051" (1.3 mm) Flatness (Pre‐Bow) "A‐1S" =±.0005″ (±0.0127 mm) Hardness "A‐1S" =45‐48 Rc Thickness Tolerance "A‐1S" = ±.0005″ (±0.0127 mm) "N" strips are used for low intensity applications. Thickness "N‐1S" =.031" (0.79 mm) Flatness (Pre‐Bow) "N‐1S" =±.0005″ (±0.0127 mm) Hardness "N‐1S" =45‐48 Rockwell C Hardness Thickness Tolerance "N‐1S" = ±.0005″ (±0.0127 mm) The purposed contractual action will be a Five (5) year, firm fixed price Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) type contract. The use of a brand name justification in this acquisition is crucial to the maintenance mission of CCAD. CCAD's mission is to assess, evaluate, repair, and return rotary wing aircraft and components to various units across the Department of Defense. The shot peening process is essential to hardening various aerospace components and extending the life of metals. Electronics' Inc. brand of Almen strips meets and exceeds CCADs Process Regulation I.02. EI's Almen Strips has proven reliable in previous applications and meet all Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) industry nationalization standards listed in SAE J442 and J443. EI holds U.S. Patent No. 6,568,239 for "The Coverage Check Finish" which helps with visually checks for lapses in coverage and contributes to proper peening techniques. This is a 100% Small Business Set-Aside. Offers are not solicited from other than small business concerns. By U.S. Law, participation in Small Business Set Asides is restricted to U.S. Small businesses; therefore, foreign requests for this solicitation will not be honored. It has been determined that the Government's needs can be met by items available in the commercial marketplace; therefore, FAR Part 12 will be used. No telephone requests for solicitation will be accepted. Request for solicitation will be by fax, email or mailed.
