Requisition Number: 521-18-2-237-0072 Notice Type: Special Notice Synopsis: NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD A SOLE SOURCE PROCUREMENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, Birmingham VA Medical Center hereby gives notice of their intent to award a C' contract To Edwards Lifesciences, One Edwards Way, Irvine, CA 92614-5688 on a sole source basis in accordance with the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Subpart 13.501(a). The U.S Department of Veterans Affairs, Birmingham VA Medical Center Birmingham Alabama has a requirement to purchase 8 EACH HEMOSPHERE ADVANCED MONITORING PLATFORM INCLUDES: MONITOR (HEM1), SWAN MODULE (HEMSGM10), OXIMETRY CABLE (HEMOXSC100), BATTERY (HEMBAT10), AND MODELS HEMQG1000, 70CC2 and 19437100 and 8 EACH 12 MONTH SERVICE AGREEMENT(s) FOR MONITOR AND ALL ACCESSORIES. Market research results indicate that Edwards Lifesciences is the only source capable of providing the required equipment and service agreement. As such, the government intends to procure these items on a sole source basis from Edwards Lifesciences the equipment manufacturer. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Nonetheless, responsible sources may submit a capability statement, which, if received within ten (10) calendar days after the date of the publication of this notice of intent to award a sole source procurement, will be considered. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to compete this requirement based upon responses received as a result of this notice - is solely within the discretion of the Government. The Government will not reimburse respondents for any costs incurred in preparation of response to this announcement. The NAICS code is 339113, SURGICAL APPLIANCE AND SUPPLIES MANUFACTURING and has a size standard of 750. All timely responses will be considered. No hard copy or facsimile submissions will be accepted. The Government does not intend to rank submittals or provide any reply to interested firms. Responses to this notice shall be submitted by 7:00 PM CST on 10 February 2018, to Lynette Lane at Lynette.Lane2@va.gov Questions concerning this announcement are due by 4:00PM CST on 5 February 2018.
