Technical Requirements The Tube Severing Machine and the Chipless Tube Cutter System are self-contained set of tools and accessories to cut the V-22 hydraulic lines in confined spaces without contaminating the hydraulic fluid in the process and for cutting hydraulic tubing to facilitate its removal in the event that repairs need to be made at both the organizational and intermediate maintenance levels. Tube Severing Machine must cut the V-22 Aircraft titanium tubing and include a tube severing machine, collets for all existing tube sized 03, 04, 06, 08, 10, 12, and 16, cutting bits, squaring module attachment and cutting bit; all housed in a case. This severing machine must be loaded with the appropriate collet and cutting bit in order to perform a cut. After the cutting bit is installed, the squaring module is required to finish the cut. These tools must be made of hardened metals to be able to cut through aircraft grade hydraulic tubing to a smooth finish. The tube cutter system must include a pneumatic drive, 18" flexible drive, tube cutters (sizes 03, 04, 05, 06, 08 10, 12, and 16), maintenance tools and spare cutting wheels; all housed in a case. This tube cutting system must be capable of cutting tubing of the following materials: carbon steel, low alloy steel, chrome steel, chrome/moly alloys, stainless steel, titanium, Inconel, copper, aluminum, and copper nickel alloys.
