Description
S/SVT INDUSTRY DAY ANNOUNCEMENT JANUARY 19, 2018: In the event of a Government shutdown, the S/SVT Industry Day, currently scheduled for January 22 & 23, 2018 at Ft Leavenworth, Kansas, will be postponed. The current Continuing Resolution ends on January 19, 2018. If a new Continuing Resolution (or applicable appropriations act) is not signed, then the Government will likely shut down. If a shutdown occurs, the S/SVT Industry Day will be postponed to a later date. If the Government does shutdown, official notice of the Industry Day postponement will be provided via FBO; however, industry partners should regularly monitor news outlets to determine the status of a new Continuing Resolution (or applicable appropriations act). If a new Continuing Resolution (or applicable appropriations act) is signed before January 22, 2018, the S/SVT Industry day will occur as scheduled. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- The U.S. Army Combined Arms Center for Training (CAC-T), Ft. Leavenworth, Kansas, will conduct an Industry Day on 22-23 January 2018 at the Frontier Conference Center on Ft Leavenworth, Kansas. The objective of this event is to communicate the S/SVT concept to Industry partners and Academia, and to address any questions or concerns interested parties may have regarding the effort. Solider/Squad Virtual Trainer (S/SVT) reflects a combination of the Squad Immersive Virtual Trainer (SiVT) and the Solider Virtual Trainer (SVT) efforts. If you have previously registered for the SiVT Industry Day, your registration is still valid and you do not need to register again. The purpose of Special Notice Amendment 01, dated January 17, 2018, is to provide the S/SVT Statement of Need to all interested parties. The document has been included as an attachment to this notice. Industry Day attendees are strongly encouraged to review the document and prepare any questions prior to the Industry Day event on 22-23 January 2017. BACKGROUND/PURPOSE: The Army lacks an integrated Soldier and Squad simulation training capability for close combat, multi-domain battle in diverse complex operational environments. Moreover, there are virtual training shortfalls for qualification and certification of precision targeting with precision munitions, replication and integration of unmanned aerial systems (UAS) and counter UAS operations, as well as the conduct and clearance of fires and airspace de-confliction. The Army seeks to develop the next generation virtual training capability through the S/SVT effort to fill those gaps and advance weapons skill development, call for fire, and use of force training. To address the gaps identified above, the Army/USMC requires a scalable, transportable, Soldier/squad close combat simulation trainer that provides: - Realistic and tailorable OE and Acceptable equipment form, fit, and function that allows squad dismounted operations - Provides training at the Point of Need - Scalable from the individual to squad - Software engine agnostic - Intelligent tutor that captures and builds upon each repetition to accelerate skill acquisition - Provides user feedback/AAR capability - Soldier enabled capability that reduces overall setup time for increased training throughput INDUSTRY DAY DETAILS: Industry Day participation is available on a first come, first serve basis. Pre-registration is required (see information below on registration process, "How To Register"). Due to space limitations, no more than 2 representatives from each company may register to attend. Identification will be required at the time of check-in. There is no cost to attend the event; however, you must register to attend in advance.
