Description
Sources Sought Naval Surface Warfare Center Carderock Division (NSWCCD) is requesting information to identify sources capable of manufacturing Gamma Calibrators. This request for information (RFI) is the initiation of market research under Part 10 of the Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) and is not a Request for Proposals (RFP). Background: The Navy's Radiation Detection, Indication and Computation (RADIAC) Program uses gamma calibrators within each of its RADIAC Calibration Laboratories (RCLs) to perform testing, verification and calibration of radiation detection equipment and dosimetry. The RADIAC Program is interested in new gamma calibrators that shall contain the following radioactive-material, sealed sources: High-activity Cs-137 source of up to 130 Curies ( maximum number of Curies with no upward deviation, but a 5% downward deviation is allowed) •· Low-activity Cs-137 source of up to 2 Curies ( maximum number of Curies with no upward deviation, but a 5% downward deviation is allowed) Responses: Interested firm shall submit a capability statement demonstrating how their firm is capable of providing gamma calibrators that contain the above radioactive-material, sealed sources, as well as provide a Sealed Sources and Devices Registry (SSDR). SSDRs are requested for the purpose of preview by the Radiological Affairs Support Office, the Navy's internal regulator for radioactive materials and permits, under the purview of the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Finally, the interested firm shall provide a cover letter that contains the following information: 1. Company name, website, and physical address 2. Point of contact, phone number, and email address 3. CAGE number (if applicable) and DUNS number 4. Company size, for example small business, large business, or small disadvantaged business Disclaimer: This notice does not constitute a commitment by the Government to issue a solicitation. The Government will not pay for any effort expended or any material provided in response to this announcement. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed to allow the Government to determine the organization's qualifications to perform the work. In accordance with FAR 15.201 (e), responses to this notice are not offers and cannot be accepted by the government to form a binding contract. Responders are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this request for information. This Sources Sought does not represent any obligation of the government for any cost or expenditure associated with submitting a response to this request.
