This manikin is tether less which allows for in-situ trainings in the areas where staff work and are familiar with their surroundings. Traditionally, training has focused on the male patient, and the majority of manikins or training devices used have been designed after males. The manikins may have had some interchangeable parts, but essentially, they are designed to model the male body. This manikin is designed to model the female body. Staff training needs to be more directed toward the care of the female patient and their unique differences and needs. This manikin brings in that realism when it comes to staff training. Simulation training is a way to train staff before they encounter the live patient. Incorporating realism into the scenarios and training sessions is essential to making the training beneficial to the staff, and seeing a female manikin instead of pretending a male manikin is a female, is part of this realism. This manikin would be used in training sessions with staff, including, but not limited to the medical providers and staff. It is also portable, allowing it to be moved throughout the hospital and for transportation to the Community Based Outreach clinics for in-situ trainings where the staff work. This manikin is tether-less (compressor, power supply and communications are all enclosed within the manikin) allowing it to be moved from situation to situation without being hampered by cords or loss of function creating a more realistic situation. This manikin also has an airway (oral or nasal) that can be intubated or suctioned, audible Korotkoff sounds for blood pressure measurement, a circulatory system that allows for the use of real equipment (blood pressure and oxygen saturation equipment), bilateral IV training arms, wireless streaming audio for real time conversation with the staff during training sessions and the ability to be defibrillated with our own equipment for better staff training. This manikin also can have a urinary catheter placed, interchangeable uteri and silicone breast inserts for teaching self breast exams for women's health exams.
