- AMENDMENT TO SPECIAL NOTICE - RFI-AFRL-RIK-18-02 Mastering Complexity in Multi Domain Command & Control - Industry Day EVENT DATE: 31 January 2018 REGISTRATION DEADLINE: 26 January 2018, 4PM EDT REGISTRATION WEBSITE: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/012e218e4346449494ebec16d3a446fb For Industry event questions or logistics please contact Mr. Daniel Fayette. EVENT POC: Daniel Fayette, Principal Engineer E-MAIL: dfayette@griffissinstitute.org For Technical questions please contact Dr. Lee Seversky. TECHNICAL POC: Dr. Lee Seversky, AC2 CTC Lead E-MAIL: Lee.Seversky@us.af.mil INDUSTRY DAY INFORMATION: The Air Force Research Laboratory, Information System Division (AFRL/RIS) is hosting an Industry Day in support of RFI-AFRL-RIK-18-02: Mastering Complexity in Multi Domain Command & Control (MDC2) and the Autonomy & Command & Control (AC2) Core Technical Competency (CTC) described below. The purpose of this meeting is to provide information on AC2 CTC RFI; promote additional discussion on the RFI topic areas; describe in depth the technical strategy and needs of the CTC; address questions from potential industry partners; and provide a forum for exploring potential industry teaming relationships with AC2 government leadership and program managers. AFRL/RIS hosts Industry Days to promote teaming arrangements between researchers; provide potential performers with information on whether and how they might respond to the Government's research and development solicitations; and to increase efficiency in white paper and proposal preparation. The Industry Day will be held on January 31, 2018 at The Griffiss Institute, 725 Daedalian Drive, Rome, New York from 8:30AM to 4:30PM. In-processing will be held from 8:00AM to 8:30AM. This Industry Day does not constitute a formal solicitation for proposals or proposal abstracts. Attendance is voluntary and is not required to propose to any potential related Broad Agency Announcements or potential research solicitations on this topic. AFRL/RIS will not provide reimbursement for any costs incurred to participate in this Industry Day. CORE TECHNICAL COMPETENCY DESCRIPTION: The objective of the AC2 CTC is to harness the complexity found in the multiple dimensions represented across the warfighting domains and impose that complexity on an adversary through a set of complex and cascading effects. The complexity anticipated and the operational tempo required to be successful against a peer adversary, will most likely exceed human capabilities. As such the AC2 CTC will make the proper investments in machine intelligence to support the human in this endeavor of managing complexity at speed and scale. The AC2 CTC is made up of three sub-CTCs; Complex Adaptive Systems, Machine Intelligence, and Complex Effects Analysis. Each sub-CTC will be discussed highlighting key technical challenges, vision, and descriptions of long term technical capability needs. BREAKOUT SESSIONS: There will be an opportunity provided for brief individual meetings with the CTC leadership. To schedule an individual session, select the appropriate option on the registration website. Sessions are available January 31 from 1:00-4:30PM, and will be allocated on a first come first serve basis. REGISTRATION INFORMATION: Participants must register NLT 4:00 PM January 26, 2018, at the following website: https://app.smartsheet.com/b/form/012e218e4346449494ebec16d3a446fb. Registration is limited to two (2) participants per CAGE code. Maximum participation is 160 people. Only attendees registered through website by the deadline will be granted access to the event. Directions to the facility are available on the Griffiss Institute website: https://www.griffissinstitute.org/. There is no registration fee for attending this meeting. The Industry Day will be unclassified and open to U.S. Citizens only. All attendees will be required to present government issued photo identification upon entry to the event. All attendees are required to submit a US Citizenship Verification form (available for download at the registration website) in order to attend this meeting. The attendance roster will be released to all attendees after the conclusion of the event.
